Low back pain

Low back pain is a widespread ailment characterized by discomfort in the lower back region, which can range from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp sensation that makes it difficult to move. It can be caused by various factors including muscle or ligament strain, bulging or ruptured disks, arthritis, skeletal irregularities, or osteoporosis. People with Low back pain may experience limited flexibility or range of motion, or an inability to stand straight.

Often, Low back pain is triggered by everyday activities done improperly — bending awkwardly, lifting heavy objects, or sitting in the same position for long periods. Although most Low back pain is acute, or short term, and lasts a few days to a few weeks, it can become chronic for some individuals, persisting for 12 weeks or longer.

Preventive measures include maintaining good posture, staying active and regularly exercising, and using proper body mechanics when lifting. Treatments vary widely and may include rest, physical therapy, medications, and in some cases, surgery. Chiropractic care, with its focus on spinal manipulation and alignment, can also be an effective treatment for many individuals suffering from Low back pain, providing relief and helping to prevent future episodes.
